DAY 05 : KATHMANDU

After bf proceed to see visiting the 2000 years old Swoyambhunath Stupa, (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) also known as "Monkey temple” This temple charms with its great dazzling Stupa, while at the same time, offering a view of Kathmandu city. The two-thousand years-old Stupa is the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal. There’s evidence to believe the hill was used for animist rites even before Buddhism arrived in the valley two thousand years ago.

After this visit Patan likes to recall its old name LALITPUR (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) ("City of Beauty "), and although now largely absorbed by greater Kathmandu, this once powerful independent kingdom still maintains a defiantly distinct identity. Compared to Kathmandu its quite, less frenetic and more Buddhist (there may be a correlation). Above all, it remains a proud city of artisans.

Patan is well known by its temples and handcrafts, besides the amazing creation of the beautiful fine decoration of Durbar Plaza, full of the finest pieces of Newari architecture of Nepal.

After Patan durbar square visit to Khokana. Khokana is a small Newari Village located just 6 kilometers from Patan. Khokana is a small village in which traditional craftsmanship still takes an important role. Villagers can often be seen spinning, winnowing and crushing mustard seeds. Especially the latter is what Khokana is most famous for, it's mustard oil. The village has a broad street leading into its centre. On the left side the three stories’ Shree Rudrayani temple can be seen.

After exploring Khokana we will walk to Bungmati. This is an approximately 15 minutes’ walk through on the road dividing the agricultural land. Bungmati, just like Khokana, is a Newari village where traditional life still can be seen. The village houses the typical Newari buildings and has an interesting main square where one can view the Ganesh Temple and the Machhindranath Temple.

At the last visiting Great Stupa of Boudhanath (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) in the Kathmandu valley, a vast dome-shaped monument representing the Mind of the Buddha is the primary pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddhists of the Himalayas and a major draw for Tibetan Buddhists from all over the planet. The history of the Stupa from its origins in the fifth century to the present day is also presented here for the first time.' Drive back to hotel.

DAY 06 : KATHMANDU DEPARTURE

Drive to airport for flight back home with lots of memories of Nepal.
